THE PASSION
I have a passion that was put in my heart when I was a child. I have always loved teaching, even when I was 14 years old I was giving lessons to who ever wanted them. Now, I feel that I am in a place in my life that I am ready to move forward with this passion and make it a reality. I have learned a lot about human nature as well as horse nature. I was blessed to be able to be a working student for my horse education. I feel that with this knowledge I can give back to the children.
I love to see the smile on the kids face when they get on the horses for the very first time, or they accomplish something that they have worked so hard to figure out. I love to see the horses nuzzle up against the kids for the first time and how warm they can be to someone that has never touched a horse before.
I was put on this earth to have both kids and horses be a major part of my life. I have never felt more complete then I do now at this point in my life. I have a few wonderful students that light up knowing they have a lesson and get to ride and groom the horses. Now I want to be able to touch more then just a few I want to have an effect on hundreds of little ones! I want them to remember their time at the barn like I remember. The smiles and smells, the friendships and partnerships from both the horses and other kids. I want to give that back. I want to be their one constant smiling face and no matter how bad their day was at school they can come and give the horses a hug and get a nuzzle in return.
I believe that now is the right time to do this. For many reasons, two of which are in are culture today kids are not getting out and enjoying themselves in a natural environment, and the second is the right time in my life. I am 33 have a wonderful supportive husband, and two beautiful girls. God has given me this gift and I would like to use it!
The Foundation of Milestone Farm
Horse businesses have enjoyed steady growth over the past 20 years. This demand is due to many factors. Parents are looking for extra curricular activities that have an effect on the emotional state of their children.
Over the past few years there has been an increase in demand for a European style riding school .It supplies the horses, and a group environment that becomes almost family. This type of riding center is a great way for children to learn. It is structured to so that the kids stay in the same group and become a team. They learn teamwork, time management skills, and to be respectful of others. All of which are good traits to learn for life.
Clients who don't have to own a horse can lease one of our lesson horses. This way they can feel an emotional connection to one horse.
We would like to offer to a select few, those of which don't have the financial means to participate in this type of activity, an opportunity to join us at no expense to them. This will also create a positive environment for the local community.
